Orange Shirt Day is inspired by a six-year old girl who wore a shiny new orange shirt on her first day at a residential school. The shirt was forcefully taken away from her and every September 30th we remember the harm the residential school system did to a generation of aboriginal children and their descendants.
We will be hosting a couple of events:
September 28th 1:30pm to 2:30pm Frances Morrison Library - Survivor Speaker Event
September 30th 7:30am to 11:00am CUMFI - Pancake Breakfast honouring the survivors
- Gilles Dorval
- Director, Aboriginal Relations - City of Saskatoon
