To increase the resiliency of seniors and/or those at risk of developing chronic disease by creating a base of community volunteers and workshops that will assist in developing strategies to assist with the challenges of daily living.
A data base of local health information, resources and agencies will be developed for the use of the community.
Local workshops will concentrate on reducing isolation through increased activities and community involvement. Because we are a rural community and have no public transportation, this program is one that will be driven from the community base by the local community. Workshops and planning will be done using the skills of younger seniors to teach and assist older ones and to develop our own "silver economy" for the betterment of all.
