The Peace Region spans a large area of northwestern Alberta and northeastern British Columbia in the Peace River watershed, and entirely within the bounds of Treaty 8. Twenty six museums, archives and historic sites are participating in this project which tells the history of the Peace Region through 150 artefacts, spread across the twenty-six museums, from its earliest inhabitants up to modern day discoveries in paleontology. Brochures listing the 150 objects and where to find them will be available at all participating Spirit of the Peace Museums and at tourist information centres in the NW of Alberta and NE of BC starting July 1st. A legacy project, what you don't get to seeing this year, we hope to see you in future years!
